Air Jordan 1 Mid "Subway" Honours NYC MTA Workers
Jordan Brand's Wings initiative has created a special edition Air Jordan 1 Mid, the "Subway," honouring NYC's MTA workers. This sneaker is designed with input from 138 local NYC students and pays tribute to community role models.
Students from New York, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago, and Philadelphia collaborated on the design, which resulted in a two-tone grey sneaker featuring the city's subway lines.
The waterproof shoe includes a reflective Swoosh, speckled outsole, and sock lining. Messages like "Thank You For All You Do" on the tongue, "Always Go Forward" on the toe, and "Do Not Lean On The Doors" on the quarter add unique touches. "WINGS" is displayed on the heel in MTA-style lettering.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid "Subway" will be released on May 15 at Nike's website and Jordan stores in New York City. It will be available exclusively in grade school, pre-school, and toddler sizes for $125, $85, and $70, respectively.
