Splendour Day 1

Splendour Day 1

If the only impression that matters is the first, then day one of the full Splendour program will be the one that stays with us. Before the sun set over Byron parklands punk outfit The Bronx from LA had the crowd moshing as if they didn’t have three days of festival ahead of them. Then, local legends DMA’s took the stage, showing off that the Aussie scene is as good as it gets, even dropping their cover of Cher’s ‘Believe’ which got everyone in the mood. For those of a more electronic mind-set, Touch Sensitive tore up with Mix Up Stage with his blend of synths. Heading back to the main Amphitheatre, the vibe was strong with Texan singer-songwriter Khalid who kept the party going before the final set from Lorde which kept us waiting but came through by the end. With day two now upon us we’re already geared up for CHVRCHES and Vampire Weekend, set to dominate tonight.
