Canvas Cinema – The Golden Sheaf x Bombay Sapphire
This October The Golden Sheaf and Bombay Sapphire have collaborated to create Canvas Cinema – a gold class movie experience in the breezy outdoors.
Canvas Cinema is all about the Spring – celebrating long days and balmy nights, with a fresh drink in hand. The Sheaf, a mainstay in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, is happy to indulge, and has dressed up for the occasion, with blue-lit fairy lights and fragrant botanicals, plus an undisturbed view of the stars.
Different high-brow films have aired each Thursday evening for the past five, allowing viewers to explore the creative worlds of art, fashion, music and culture on screen. Tomorrow’s film is Bill Cunningham: New York, a progressive documentary about the life of the 80-year old New York Times photographer. The feel details Cunningham’s eclectic fascination with fashion and interviews friends such as Anna Wintour and David Rockerfeller. If you haven’t yet seen this arty flick, it’s one you won’t want to miss!
To accompany the film screening is a limited edition Bombay Sapphire Gin & Tonic botanicals menu, inspired by Bombay’s ‘Stir Creativity’ campaign. The personalised experience encourages the cinema-goers to get creative by offering a vast range of tonics and botanicals. Tonics include Elderflower, Sicilian Lemon, and Mediterranean, and there are three choices of botanicals: Fruits: Lemon, Orange, Strawberry; Spices: Ginger, Black Peppercorn, Juniper berry; and Herbs: Thyme, Violets, Coriander. Bombay Sapphire is the perfect gin for the job, as their 1761 recipe already celebrates botanicals, combining 10 hand-selected ingredients from around the globe.
Just in case the classic G+T isn’t your thing, there’s also an elaborate cocktail menu on offer. Guests can choose from the Rhubarb & Vanilla Gimlet (rhubarb & vanilla infused Bombay Sapphire and lime), the Blackberry Bombay (Bombay Sapphire, blackberry, lemon, mint) and the Vesper (Bombay Sapphire, 42 Below, Lillet Blanc, lemon peel).
In addition to the delightfully refreshing tipples on offer is a bespoke finger food-style menu, delivered straight to your seat in specially-themed caddies. Each session commences at 6:45pm, so you’ve got a full hour to try the gin on offer before the film begins.
If watching a movie while sitting on a Sapphire velvet couch (with foot stools!), and sipping from your Bombay goblet, sounds like your kind of fun, then book your ticket now for the last night of this one-of-a-kind luxurious cinematic experience.
