Vans Rides the Wave with Doobie Skate's Old Skool Net Drop

French skater and part-time fisherman Victor "Doobie" Pellegrin is back on deck with Vans, casting a fresh spin on the classic Old Skool silhouette—and this time, it's straight out of a myth.

The Doobie Skate Old Skool Net reels in a net full of clever design details. Tucked inside the tongue is a hidden mesh stash pocket (perfect for secret treasure), while the upper boasts water-resistant suede, ultra-tough laces, and heavyweight 10oz canvas panels for serious durability. The final flourish? A custom footbed illustrated by longtime Vans collaborator Todd Francis.

The sneaker drop arrives with an epic short film, "Ye Tale of Doobie, " shot in a moody Cornish fishing town. Directed by Jack Lammas and Ed Hubert, the whimsical video follows Doobie as he fishes his new kicks from the sea—earning the legendary title of "World's Finest Fisherman." Cameos from skate comrades Harry Lintell, Helena Long, Notis Aggelis, Max Pack, Merryn Garner, and Michael Boardman round out the maritime adventure.

In Vans' words: "Once a humble skateboarder from a small French village, now king of the high seas with his colourway." Mythical, rugged, and full of character, the Doobie Skate Old Skool Net sets sail online and at select European skate shops on April 24. Price details are still under wraps.
