Splendour turns 18 with their biggest line up ever
Splendour in the Grass has returned for its 18th year, and continues to cement itself as one of Australia’s biggest and best festivals. Taking over the North Byron Parklands from Friday the 20th to Sunday the 22nd of July, over 100 of the biggest international and most exciting home grown artists will light up the parklands. Names like Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Vampire Weekend, Khalid, Miguel, Angus and Julia Stone, Gang of Youths, Safia, and that’s really the tip of the iceberg.
Make sure you’re glued to your computer on Thursday the 19th of April (pre-sale the day before) as tickets go on sale. There is onsite camping available for up to 5 nights, with early entry into the grounds available from Wednesday the 18th of July. If camping isn’t your thing, you can book yourself into Tepee Love, Flash Camp, Tent City to save yourself carrying all the gear.
Away from the music, there plenty of art and activities to get involved in with Splendour in the Craft returning with all your year 3 pipe-cleaner dreams attached. This is along with the Splendour Forum, for forward-thinkers and The Comedy Club, returning with a bunch of the countries funniest people being funny in The Forum tent. If the laughing doesn’t uplift your spirits, head to the Global Village, for a yoga class, a tarot reading, a massage, or for a spicy cup of chai. You could even head to Splendour’s musical melting pot at The World Stage.
If you’ve managed to check out all the events that Splendour has to offer, and heard all the music you possibly could, chances are you’d be hungry-thirsty. You know Splendour is going to take care of you with the Truck Stop, where a swathe of street-style eats will be lined up to fix you up. As for drinks, you can take your pick from the Champagne Bar, The Winery, the Carlton Dry Bar and the Smirnoff Cocktail Bar,
