Melbournian - turned Sydney sider - turned Melbournian again, Nite Fleit gives us an insight into what we can expect from her upcoming EP with an electro heavy contribution to the Pelvis Mix Series.

It was a sad day for the Sydney music scene when Nite Fleit relocated back to Melbourne. During her time in Sydney Nite Fleit became a crucial part of Sydney’s nightlife, running the Lady Shave series of parties and as a member of Vibe Positive. In between all this she somehow found time for activism - helping out the Keep Sydney Open movement.

Nite Fleit has forged a reputation as one of the hardest working DJ’s in Australia, performing gigs around the country and building a vast catalogue of online mixes. She moved into production in 2016, her first release appearing on the Plastic Word Volume 1 compilation. Since then she has been enlisted to remix the likes of Jun Kamoda, Rainbow Chan and Xanga. Her most recent release was an original track for the CC:Disco! curated First Light compilation along side a host of other Melbourne acts such as Sui Zhen and Rings Around Saturn.

Nite Fleit’s previous mixes have stuck pretty closely to a 4/4 structure, pushing house and techno to their limits, with the occasional foray into broken beats. However, her contribution to the Pelvis mix series is straight up Electro, and when we say Electro we mean the proper 1980’s style stuff played by the likes of DJ Stingray. This isn’t one of those mixes that takes you on a journey and there’s not a lot of subtlety, just banger seamlessly mixed into banger.

Nite Fleit will be releasing her debut EP later this year on the Mall Grab curated vinyl only label Steel City Dance Discs.
