The tour commenced in Melbourne with local favorites, The Harpoons and multi-instrumentalist Geryon. Followed by UK trio, All We Are, elusive solo-artist BLESSES and Future Classic’s newly signed artist, Exhibitionist who all performed in Sydney – curated by our very own Laneway Festival.

We spoke with up & coming artist, Turquoise Prince before performing in Canberra’s show.
BYO: What's in store for Red Bull Sound Select's the end of uni party?
Turquoise Prince: Bulk fun shit. I always love playing in my hometown as I'm sure everybody does, so it's definitely gonna be an occasion.
BYO: What are you looking most forward to?
Turquoise Prince: Seeing people I haven't seen in months/years. There's not a lot popping in CBR, I feel like it's still developing - so when shit is on it's always a mad time.
BYO: What style of music can we expect to be played?
Turquoise Prince: My style of music. It'll be a journey where genre changes from beginning to end. That's my shit.
BYO: What level of bass will you be playing, from 0-100?
Turquoise Prince: Again it varies - I'll suss the vibe on the day. If it's a heavy vibe I'll cut some of the softer tracks, and vice versa for the vice versa.
BYO: Can we expect unreleased new music from you?
Turquoise Prince: Definitely. Over half my live set is unreleased - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
BYO: You posted a photo of you graduating on instagram, congratulations! how’d you celebrate?
Turquoise Prince: Haha I wish I could take credit for graduating uni, it was a mockery photo. It was actually my sister who did.
I dropped out of UC (the Uni that this event is being held at) about 4 years ago. One morning I found myself staring in the mirror laughing uncontrollably at the thought of me ever becoming an architect. Later that night I told my mum that I'd make a living off of music even if it killed me, and haven't looked back since.
