Our favourite all-Aussie festival has just dropped its line-up for 2019. Continuing its tradition of bringing together the best of this nation’s talent with the hottest emerging local acts, Yours & Owls have put Amy Shark, Courtney Barnett, Golden Features and Hot Dub Time Machine at the top of the billing.
Since starting out busking on the streets of Cronulla, Ruby Fields has shot to local and international recognition, playing across Australia and a few recent shows in London. Her song writing has been praised for its direct and raw lyricism in addition to well-rounded instrumentation. We had a chat with her about putting it all together and making plans for Splendour 2019.
Los Angeles-based singer, rapper and graphic designer, Jared Lee AKA Duckwrth, opened the stage for Danish singer and electronic artist MØ immediately prior to the release of his EP The Falling Man, the first since his 2017 release An XXTRA UUGLY Mixtape. Duckwrth treated the audience an exclusive taste of his smooth new song Nobody Falls, featuring Kiana Ledé, Terrace Martin and Medasin.
Ghana-born Citizen Kay moved to Australia at the age of six and in his subsequent musical career has blended these two cultures through music. This has led him to three studio albums and two ARIA nominations for albums Demokracy (2014) and We The People (2015).
The mammoth lineup that is Splendour comes with an amazing run of side shows, so if you’re unable to afford the festival, prefer a more intimate setting, just want to see one of the artists or are ultra fan and want to go to both, here is your chance.
