Sahara Beck’s Announces First Single for 2019 ‘I Haven’t Done A Thing Today’

Despite what the name of her new single might suggest, Sahara Beck has done plenty lately. The 23 year old Brisbane blues and indie rock artist who wrote her first song at 12 has created an album, two EP’s, performed at Bluesfest, Falls Festival, BigSound Festival and last November for sold out her first hometown headline show. But we’re here to talk about her new song, which by the way, led her to winning the 2019 QLD Music Award for Best Regional Artist and the nomination for Best Singer Songwriter, putting her up against Amy Shark and Tia Gostelow. And what better way to celebrate then tour around Australia in April and June.

Beck worked alongside ARIA Award-nominated Tony Buchen (Mansionar, Courtney Barnett, Montaigne) and wrote ‘I Haven’t Done A Thing Today’ in her family home with her brother. The song flows like a stream-of-consciousness meditation on partying too much, sexuality, making mistakes and love, showing how normal it is for our thoughts to be up and down and all over the place. The lyrics are then paired with an upbeat, pop anthem and a strong vocal performance from Beck.

“Deep down, this song is about accepting yourself and everything around you with effortless love,” Beck explains.

You can expect a huge body of work this year following the release of her single.

Winston Surfshirt Provides the goods with the announcement of their 2019 Australian Baked Goods Tour

On their biggest national live tour to date, Sydney's funk, soul and hip hop six-piece collective will be performing in Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane this May to June. Accompanying them will be Milan Ring, plus added support from Stevan, Jordan Dennis, Stellie, Dulcie and Tiana Khasi in selected cities.

The upcoming shows follows the bands single ‘For the Record’ in 2018, which features smooth, summery tunes made with airy vocals.

Having built a cult following off the back of their unique and encapsulating live shows, they sold out all 10 shows across the country on their Australian Sponge Cake Tour, which featured their debut Gold-certified single ‘Be About You’, which earned international support from the likes of Zane Lowe and none other than Elton John. They’ve also performed at Splendour In The Grass, Spilt Milk, Falls Festival, Field Day and This That, before heading overseas and selling out shows across London and Europe.

Frontier Touring & Chugg Entertainment Announce Joint Venture

This is big news for the music industry and we’re crossing our fingers that it’s a good thing. After 20 years apart, Michael Gudinski and Michael Chugg have reunited in after founding the Frontier business in 1979. Will this mean a music industry monopoly or a way to unite against the recent attack on Australian live music and put Australian and New Zealand touring and festivals on the world stage? We hope the latter, as both promoters have decades of touring experience up their sleeve and really, this might be the much needed Australian music revolution.

Frontier Touring and Chugg Entertainment both secured Top 20 spots in the 2018 Billboard End Of Year Top Promoters Chart, with global positions of #3 and #16 respectively.

The joint venture will come into play on April 1 and alongside it, Frontier will also join Chugg Entertainment and Potts Entertainment as a partner in the incredibly successful country music festival CMC Rocks QLD, which had a sell-out crowd of 24,000 in its fourth year of running.
