An eclectic mix of artists, a well-designed space and an energetic but controlled crowd made Canberra’s Groovin the Moo a festival success. Showcasing a mix of musical genres, with buttery pop from the likes of Jack River and Angie McMahon, indie rock energy from DMA’S and Holy Holy, and a pool of popular RnB, electronica and DJ sets, Groovin spread wide its artistic calibre.
While the creative process is often explored in works of theatre and performance, the elitism of the arts gets a direct dressing down in new play SAMO Is Dead.
This weekend a Mexican fiesta is hitting Sydney’s oldest streets in celebration of Cinco de Mayo, and it’s set to be as delicious as it is colourful. The festival, aptly named Tacos N Tequila, will be held in the Rocks, and aims to showcase the very best Mexico has to offer, including street food, entertainment, art and margaritas.

Sunbeam Sound Machine sound exactly like what their name suggests. And frontman Nick Sowersby, the brain behind that sound, has crafted a multi-instrumental dream-pop sensation in Melbourne that is definitely going places.
Based in Central Queensland, the Treepsyde Festival aims to combine a love for the environment with a love for music. With tree plantings in the day, the regeneration of Australia’s natural bushland was supplemented at night by soothing music. Ant Nebula and Amar Dhall of Altar Records provided this soothing music.
