Born on Staten Island and raised in the Hudson Valley, Megan Reilly is a photographer who earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography from The State University of New York. Her poignant series, "A Deal with God," is a profoundly introspective photo essay that delves into themes of childhood, religion, lesbian identity, and the journey of becoming a woman.
Reilly reflects, "My earliest memories, shaped by the events of September 11th, marked the beginning of my understanding of life. The camera became my tool for privately examining the conservative American beliefs I was immersed in. Looking back, this project emerged as a way for me to claim space as a storyteller, addressing the emotional constraints that defined my adolescence. I find solace in metaphysical philosophies, seeking answers, peace, a sense of home, connections with others, and a higher power. Photography has been my shield and voice, allowing me to explore and express my curiosity."
