Converse x Bandulu Explores The Relationship Between Basket & Streetwear
In 2008, Pat Peltier required a solution for the imperfections in his garments, a common concern in the fashion industry. While attending MassArt – the Massachusetts Institute of Art and Design – he tackled this recurring problem with a unique solution: embroidery. By meticulously incorporating hand-sewn splashes of color throughout pieces such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and accessories, an aesthetic emerged that would soon become the defining aesthetic of streetwear brand Bandulu.
For the first time since 2015, Converse and Bandulu come together and explore the complex relationship between creativity and basketball, mixing Converse classics like the Pro Leather and Chuck 70 with apparel and accessories.
“We have approached this collection as an ode to basketball culture through the lens of craftsmanship and art,” says Peltier.
The Converse x Bandulu collection will be available starting February 11 at Bandu.lu, Converse.com, and at select retail locations. The Converse x Bandulu Basketball Bag will be available in limited quantities starting March 29.
