Nike Air Max 200s 1992 Barcelona Olympics release
The 1992 Barcelona Olympics were pretty special for a number of reasons. It was the first time since 1960’s that South Africa participated due to the end of Apartide. The dream team which consisted on Larry Bird, Micheal Jordan and Magic Johnson won gold in Basket Ball and Derek Redmond tore his ham-string in the 400 metre semi final and limped his way to the finish line ina true show of dedication and olympic spirit. To Celebrate the significance of this great year ofolympics, nike decided to release their the Air Max 200 Bacelona Olympics edition. I am a big fan of this shoe. The 200’s are a style I can get into and the use of different shades of blue throughout this sneaker create a colour combination of Aqua that compliments the white lining at the bottom and the red lining at the top just perfectly.
The features of this shoe that really go beyond are the ways the colours play with each other. It is a summer sneaker that alludes to good times under the sun. The Yellow tick on the tongue plays as the sun shining over the shimmering blue waters of the shoe. Not one to lock themselves into one set of imagery, nike use the red sock liner to create further exploration into colours and contrasts. Of course - it is a Nike, so there is no need for us to even go into how comfortable this shoe is. It fits like a glove.
It goes for around $180 AUD online and is a solid summer sneaker.
