“Colour will rule my world once more”: Camilla Franks’ Powerful Posts
Earlier this year, beloved Australian designer Camilla Franks, known for her vibrant and bohemian-inspired kaftans, announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. The announcement came just months after she gave birth to her first child, and she stated at the time that she was “humble but resilient”. Now, Camilla has reaffirmed her conviction to remain strong and courageous throughout her battle, through an emotional photoshoot with her husband and baby, captured by Georges Antoni. Camilla CEO Jane McNally said, “Our amazing Camilla is responding well to treatment and wanted to capture where she is on her personal path fighting cancer. The strength and authenticity evident in these images is what we always see when she comes into the office.” As Camilla captioned one of the pictures, released on Instagram: “I have always run wild and free. But the devil has asked me to dance. So fuck it. I’m going to show him some moves.”
Beyoncé x Vogue September Issue
The Huffington Post has recently revealed that renowned singer-songwriter and all-around queen of the world Beyoncé has been given “unprecedented control” over the cover of the impending September issue of Vogue. Traditionally, long-standing editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has the final say; but this time, the reins have been handed over to Queen Bey - which is a pretty big deal, for a number of reasons. The September issue is the most important release of the year for any magazine in the fashion biz, due to the switchover from the Spring/Summer to Fall/Winter fashion season. Thus, every year, big names like Vogue try to outdo themselves with covers graced by the biggest celeb of the day - like Rihanna for British Vogue this year. Over in the US, though, Beyoncé has been given control - and rumour has it, she’s hired the first ever black photographer to shoot a cover in Vogue’s 126-year history. 23-year-old Tyler Mitchell is an up-and-coming photographer who shot a cover for Teen Vogue earlier this year featuring gun reform activist Emma Gonzalez. Long story short - whatever this cover turns out to be, it’s sure to be epic.
