The Weekly Collection #33

Ivanka Trump may be struggling as her brand folds, but sustainable Australian fashion is thriving with exciting news from local brands St Agni and ash white and the grand opening of Garagem Collective in Bondi.

ST AGNI ANNOUNCES SUMMER COLLECTION

Coming September 2018, Byron Bay fashion brand St. Agni Studio will be releasing a new summer footwear collection. Embodying the free-spirited nature of simplicity behind the brand and focusing on everyday, essential styles, the collection will feature quality, handmade goods in luxurious leather tones of vintage tan, almond, tan, army and black. It welcomes back some of their old classic slide and woven styles as well as a few new designs. Visit https://www.st-agni.com/ to shop their current collections in anticipation.

IVANKA TRUMP CLOSES UP SHOP

The infamous First Daughter to the 45th President of the United States, Ivanka, has just announced that her luxe clothing and footwear brand is folding. Launched in 2014, the brand has been struggling under the weight of its familial ties to Donald Trump since he was inaugurated in 2017, finding itself continually dropped from stores like Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. Staff have been informed they’re being laid off and stores will be shuttered ASAP. In a statement, Ivanka attributed the closing of her brand to her desire to focus more strongly on her political work in Washington.

QUEENSLAND BRAND ASH WHITE TO TAKE LFW18/19

A sustainable womenswear label inspired by the ideals of protecting traditional artisan communities and celebrating simplicity and elegance, ash white was founded in 2011 in Mackay, Queensland. From its humble beginnings, it is now on the rise, with the brand invited to present at London Fashion Week in September 2018 or February 2019. Invited by Oxford Fashion Studio, a runway production company who organises fashion catwalks and showcases for Fashion Weeks across the world; it’s a big step for a local brand with so much heart, and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the table.
