This week: sales, a scarf that definitely looks like something else, new fashion looks we’re going Gaga over and … another royal wedding?

2018 Royal Wedding 2.0

We’re all suckers for a royal wedding, right? So of course, you’ll all be aware that earlier this week, Princess Eugenie, granddaughter to the Queen, married long-time beau Jack Brooksbank. And of course, we couldn’t let it pass without a cheeky recap of all the best (and worst) looks from the big day. The bride herself looked stunning in a classic and elegant dress by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, featuring a low back to show off her scoliosis scar and inspire others to rethink what beauty is. Other notable mentions of the day were Kate and Pippa Middleton, who never fail to look classy; Meghan Markle, whose outfit seemed to take a leaf from the Middleton book of chicness and Naomi Campbell, whose fierce look definitely gave off some rich widower at a funeral vibes, but in a good way. The bride’s mother and sister, Fergie and Bea, both failed to impress with boring outfits and unflattering shades for their skin tones. The show-stealer, though, was model Cara Delevingne, whose sharp suit and top hat leaves me breathless every time.

ICYMI - Lady Gaga is Killing It On Her A Star Is Born Press Tour

It’s not exactly new news that Lady Gaga, popstar extraordinaire, is one of the greatest fashion icons of our time. But this past month or so have brought on a whole bunch of new looks which have us completely shook, thanks to the press tour for her new film A Star Is Born which she’s currently promoting. From a Marilyn Monroe inspired look for the Venice Film Festival, to a simple yet elegant velvet dress by Ralph & Russo; Gaga has proven once again that she’s a true fashion chameleon able to serve EVERY look. Perhaps the most extra looks were an Elizabethan-inspired gown in ivory and gold by Alexander McQueen and a baby pink Valentino gown that shows that feathers can work if you do them right. Special mention must also go to the oversized Marc Jacobs suit she rocked for the Women in Hollywood event a few days ago which only Gaga could wear without making it look like a sack.

It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, it’s a … Vulva?

Yeah, you read that right. Fashion critics and punters around the world were sent into a spin in the past week as Italian fashion house Fendi posted a new scarf on their website. A scarf seems like an interesting thing to get worked up over … but at first glance, it definitely doesn’t look like a scarf. What with the pale pink colour and the attached fur … well, as one twitter user pointed out, “I’m here for a scarf that recalls my emergence from my mother’s body”. After amassing a heavy dose of mockery and criticism for the aptly-termed “vag-fash” scarf, Fendi caved and took it down from their site. Bummer, right? To think you could’ve gotten on that vag-fash train for just $1320.
