Louis Vuitton’s First Men’s Fragrance

Louis Vuitton have announced their plan to launch their first collection of fragrances for men. The collection will launch worldwide on May 31st this year and will include five brand new fragrances, which are expected to be “subtle and masculine”. L’Immensité, Nouveau Monde, Orage, Sur La Route and Au Hasard are the names given to each fragrance – all decanted into sleek, minimal glass bottles. Master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud is the man behind the fragrances, with scents such as wood and cocoa, citrus and sandalwood and cardamom to be expected.

Biodegradable Bras Now Exist

There’s been a huge focus on sustainable and ethical fashion practices with Fashion Revolution Week last week, as well as recent studies showing that the fashion industry is accountable for 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions a year. However, this one is a first. Stephanie Devine, Australian and Sydney-based lingerie designer at Bras Without Wires has created the first zero-waste bra. What Devine has named “The Very Good Bra”, is 100% biodegradable – black, wire-free and coming in 24 cup sizes, it’s also made from tencel fibres instead of cotton or wool. The bra isn’t in production stages yet, with a Kickstarter Campaign starting on May 19th.

The Vegan Fashion Awards

Each year, PETA host their annual fashion awards, with different categories celebrating different aspects of ethical fashion. This year’s winners have been announced and can be your guide for ethical brands and designs. The Best Wool-Free Coat went to Camilla and Marc’s Hopper coat (perfect for winter), the Best Faux-Fur Brand was awarded to Unreal Fur and the Most Animal-Friendly Label was won by Zhivago.
