Ten Pieces Disco SottaSopra launch
Backyard Opera rocked up at the Ten Pieces Disco SottaSopra launch in the brand’s new pop-up store at Bondi Beach. There is a purposeful clash as the brand inverts disco with its punk philosophy, with the opening of the collection featuring sounds from Yeti Out and an art installation be Beni Single.
Maurice Terzini, of Ten Pieces, talks about the logic behind the pop-up store and his new range: “Our brand is still young and the pop ups are a great way to connect to the community. We want to concentrate on doing smaller and more experimental ranges that are closer to one off rather than one in a million. We feel like it’s much more appealing to wear clothing that has an artisan feel about it.”
The casual luxe aesthetic is met by an honest push towards a sustainable future, by showcasing a limited-edition range of customized dead-stock military pieces. With bomber jackets, boiler suits and trousers embroidered and printed a la “SottaSopra” along with “unity” slides handmade from recycled rubber.
"As always the collection is about creating a wardrobe that can be worn from day to night. It remains unisex but we have introduced new colour and details of print and embroidery I think it will appeal to our usual followers but also provide a new edge of excitement for those who have never seen the brand. It’s a bit of a party range." Terzini tells.
The pop up store is open from 9-5 Shop L1-07 “PACIFIC BONDI BEACH” Corner of Gould Street and Beach Road Open to the public from Friday 16th February seven days a week until sold out.
