COMME des GARÇONS BLACK Nike Air Zoom Talaria

COMME des GARÇONS BLACK often brings a darker side to a classic Nike (NYSE:NKE +0.47%)sneaker, and this season’s offering is no exception with the launch of the collaborative Air Zoom Talaria.

Not seen since its re-launched series running from 2016 to 2017, the Air Zoom Talaria is one of Tinker Hatfield‘s more progressive designs that launched way back in 1997. It was positioned as a running shoe with Nike’s proprietary Zoom Air cushioning, which works by using the pressure of your foot to compress tensile fibers in the midsole that, upon impact, then release a burst of energy as you step off.

Now, CdG BLACK is here to breathe a new lease of life into the sneaker. Of course, it appears in all black, as with everything that comes from the more accessible CdG sub-brand. The upper is made nearly all from suede, with leather splitting up the design around the toe box and vamp, collar, and on the heel, where on the latter you’ll find contrasting white branding.

Tonal stitching runs all over the side panels, where on the lateral side you’ll spot a small etched-in Swoosh logo on the rear quarter marking the second bit of branding on the shoe. The final touch of branding comes on the full-leather tongue, appearing in a glossy black bubble.

A full black leather lining and a black outsole fitted with Nike’s signature waffle outsole design rounds out the pair. Take a look at the COMME des GARÇONS BLACK x Nike Air Zoom Talaria above, and purchase a pair for yourself from Dover Street Market’s website now, costing £240 GBP (approx. $330 USD).
