New Music: Cloud Control, ‘Rainbow City’
Since Cloud Control’s 2013 album Dream Cave the band has gone from a four-piece to a trio, losing bassist Jeremy Kelshaw in 2015 to a burgeoning need to “return to civilian life.” But alas, as can be heard in the band’s latest single ‘Cloud City’, everything is still in tip-top form.
Taking its title from vintage videogames, frontman Alister Wright, in speaking to Triple J’s Richard Kingsmill says that: “'Rainbow City' reminded me of a level out of Sonic the Hedgehog. That's really nerdy but I thought those places sounded really cool, Emerald Hill Zone or Metropolis City and things like that."
‘Rainbow City’ is the first release from an upcoming full-length, the band’s third, which is due out for release late 2017. Check out the song in full below:
