Capturing the spirit of the South Coast is the waves that roll in on the shore, the markets in the park and the houses that fill up every summer. A moment lasts a month as the daily rhythms unfold and our routines become a ritual. It is an escape but also a return. The pizza, topped with ingredients with no name, tastes just like pizza, the dogs that only bathe in the ocean smell just like wet dog and the sand feels like sun and salt and air. This roll is a moment in time, but it is also all time, as we are reminded every year when the pilgrimage makes it winding way there.
